Day 2

Visit to Yi He Yuan (Summer Palace)
We went to the Summer Palace where the King spent his summer. We spent an hour walking into the palace, enjoying the beautiful scenery and learning about the royal lifestyle. We also took a 15-minute boat ride in the lake of the palace. The area we covered was only a tip of the ice berg. It was an enormous palace!

Visit to Doctor Tea
We learnt about tea culture and tasted a variety of tea. After the tea appreciation, we were touched by the pupils' filial piety as many of them gave deep thoughts about selecting the appropriate tea to purchase for their mothers.

Training at Beijing shi Shi Jin Shan qu ye yu tiyu xuexiao
Our pupils had the opportunity to train with the gymnasts in the sports school. They underwent training by the local coaches who were ex-national coaches. Pupils benefitted from the different training techniques and peer coaching.

Children as young as three years old started gymnastics training at this school. We were impressed by the young gymnasts' discipline during the training and the zest for the sport. They have great dreams of representing their country in the Olympics.

Meeting new friends in the gymnasium.

Exchange of gifts between the schools.

Exchange of gifts with one another. Notice the difference in age and height?

They prepared the Beijing Olympics 2008 ornaments for all our pupils.

Our Fantastic Four!

Serious training in progress...

Kungfu Performance
After a sumptous dinner, we proceed to watching a show. It was an exciting Kungfu performance which depicts a tough journey of how a young monk became an abbot, after learning the essence of Shaolin Kungfu. The boys were exceptionally enthusiastic about the various kungfu skills demonstrated.
