Day 1

We arrived at Beijing International Airport at 3.10 p.m. after 6 hours of flight. The children had fun playing games, watching videos and chatting with one another. The weather was at 29 degrees Celsius when we arrived. We visited Tian'an Men Square and watched the flag lowering ceremony. We also witnessed the different building developments and road construction as the city prepares for the coming Olympics. We were glad to be part of the counting down to the Olympics 2008. 345 days to go for the Olympics 2008! Our tour guide, Mr Liu, explained what the Beijing logo for Olympics represents and how the city is preparing for the Olympics. We had our dinner at a Chinese Restaurant. The children ate heartily. We checked into Hai Ge International Hotel. It was situated in front of SOGO Department Store with Wall Mart Store behind the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Some children took time to adjust to sleeping without the parents but all managed well.

It's 6.00 a.m.! We are all very excited.
